As founder and director of Shipway Consulting Ltd, I have enjoyed a successful career within leadership, organisational development, HR and Learning and Development for over 25 years.
A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, I am a passionate advocate of business improvement and developing high performing teams, with a genuine enthusiasm for any values-led organisational approach which places people at the heart of its vision and strategy.
I have a strong background working in strategic people leadership roles, in commercial and public sector environments, and bring extensive experience in effective strategic business planning and people management as well as coaching and behaviour profiling. My interests lay in system leadership, organisational change & cultural development and leading corporate values, strategy and transformation programmes – I thrive on helping organisations transform through developing its workforce and believe in the importance of understanding what makes organisations, and it’s people tick.
As a strong programme director with high level communication and influencing skills I have successfully been contracted in a variety of key initiatives, projects, interim roles and support across a broad range of organisation types including SMEs, newly incorporated businesses, private sector companies, government funded bodies, local authority frameworks and charitable organisations.
I am an Associate Consultant with the CIPD, an Associate Consultant with WM Employers, a respected Enterprise Adviser with the Careers and Enterprise Company and an Associate Consultant with Quest NBS where I carry out governance and skills reviews across the network of 43 government funded Active Partnerships.
An experienced mentor and coach I am a qualified, accredited, advocate and practitioner of a range of psychometric behaviour profiling tools including Everything DiSC, Myer-Briggs, Belbin Team roles, MIRO and Strength Deployment Index (SDI).
When working on wide-scale system change projects, my support is complemented by a network of associates who share the same commitment, values and approach. Brought together from a range of sectors and backgrounds, these highly-skilled experts ensure a collaborative and partnership working approach can be brought to any place-based initiatives.
