As founder and director of Shipway Consulting Ltd, I have enjoyed a successful career within leadership, organisational development, HR and Learning and Development for over 20 years.
A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, I am a passionate advocate of business improvement and developing high performing teams, with a genuine enthusiasm for any organisational approach which places people at the heart of its vision and strategy.
I have a strong background working in strategic people leadership roles, in commercial and public sector environments, and bring extensive experience in effective strategic business planning and people management as well as coaching and behaviour profiling. I thrive on helping organisations transform through developing its workforce and believe in the importance of understanding what makes organisations, and it’s people tick.
Having a strong understanding of governance arrangements I enjoy the varied advisory and Board roles I have had, including previously, Non Executive Director for an FE College, and Executive Director of an enterprise business. I am currently an enterprise advisor for the Careers and Enterprise Company and, more recently joined the Active Partnerships national Board as a Non-Executive Trustee enabling me to help share my passion for the power of sport and physical activity as a tool to change people’s lives.
One size doesn’t fit all!
Throughout my career I have learnt that an organisation’s personality is unique. A successful people approach ensures that it fits with what makes your business different. That’s why I work personally with each client getting to know their aims, culture, values, operations and needs enabling me to deliver what works best for them.
